Introduction For more than fifty years, vehicles have been tested In order to take into account the difference in the level of CO 2 emissions determined under the New European Test Cycle (NEDC) and those determined under the new Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP), a methodology for correlating the CO 2 emission values has been put in place through Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/1153 (2) with regard to passenger cars. Testförfarandet vid mätning av förbrukning och utsläpp enligt nya WLTP-körcykeln har innehållit ett antal kryphål som biltillverkarna har använt sig av. Nu har EU täppt igen luckorna. Den 1 september 2018 togs nya testmetoden WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure) i bruk som ersättare till NEDC (New European Driving Cycle).

Förutom WLTP har EU-kommissionen beslutat om Real Driving Emissions (RDE), som är ett kompletterande utsläppstest i enlighet med de nya utsläppsreglerna EU6d. Till skillnad från NEDC och WLTP kommer RDE-testerna, där bilen körs i vanlig trafik, att kunna mäta utsläpp som NOx.
